Lori-Ann's Home Page
"At the bottom of passion lies a single ring of blue fire... from the centre of which springs forth the desire to burn into the soul of others, the dream to survive."
Hi, my name is Lori-Ann. My friends call me Lori, and this is my home page. This picture was taken for an article about my life in a magazine called "It's Okay" about 3-1/2 years ago. (It's Okay is a magazine for disabled adults.)
I am 32 years old, and I am a right above the knee (ak) amputee. I lost my leg almost 8 years ago... and I haven't been able to find it since (haha). I just recently was fitted with a prosthetic leg after 4 years of not being able to use one. Though i can't use the prosthesis full-time and still require the use of the wheelchair, it sure feels fantastic to walk again!
Here are a couple of other photographs that were also taken at the time the pictures were taken for the magazine article, you can click on each to get a larger view.
I love to shop, and only wish I could win a million dollars so I could shop till I drop. I absolutely love the live theatre. Watching movies is good too, but there's nothing like being there in person. My favourite Disney character is Mickey Mouse. I spend more time with computers than is sane or healthy, however, I must admit that the time I have spent with computers and the internet has helped to teach me to become quite adept at creating home pages. I also love to IRC (InterRelay Chat), I have met a lot of my close and trusted friends on there.
