Our sexual identities are unique, far beyond any male or female label. There are not two sexes, so there cannot be opposite sexes. We are all unisexual, of unique sexuality, able to love persons of any gender, of any genitals, once freed from the chains of the apartheid of sex. In the words of Monique Wittig, "heterosexuality is a social system which produces the doctrine of difference between the sexes to justify the oppression of women by men." Thus, as the doctrine of difference disappears, as the apartheid of sex collapses, heterosexuality and homosexuality will merge into unisexuality. Opposite and same sex will lose meaning. For the freedom of gender implies the recognition of millions of sexes, and the right to love people as people, regardless of how their body hangs over their bones.
