One thing I like to see in webpages is not only fun links, but links to information that is educational. I LOVE learning new things, no matter how trivial some of these things may appear to others. On this page I've included links to pages that I feel has
stuff I just think people oughta know about, or links to pages I think are fun.
Sesame Street Links
I really enjoy Sesame Street. It's probably one of the best (if not *the* best) show out there for kids. Here are a couple of links to Sesame Street stuff.
Links to Historical Stuff
One of the things I like reading about is history. Now, everyone should keep in mind that what they read about and learn about in school is from a particular perspective. Also, a lot of history (then and now) is not taught in schools.
- A Deeper Shade of History--This is a page you should check back with from time to time to see what person and/or event is being remembered from week to week.
- The Onondaga Nation School--The Onondaga Nation is just to the south of Syracuse. This is the site for the Onondaga Nation School.
- Harlem 1900 - 1940: An
African-American Community -- Excellent look at history of harlem from
1900-1940. The photo's are excellent. Also there is a link to more
resources on this and related topics.
- Dinosaurs--Here
we go way back in earth's history for a look at every kids favorite
creatures, the dinosaurs.
Mathematics
Okay, so you might wonder just how MATH makes it onto a fun page. (oh
yeah, I also put educational in there too.) Actually, I think math is FUN!
A lot of what I've gotten to work on as an instructional designer is math
and science stuff. (thats cuz I have
a masters in chemistry.) Right now I am just starting my foray into developing math stuff on the web. Here is JUST the beginning!
